Budget for 2 people: $1500-$2000 per person
COPENHAGEN
CPH airport to town- take the train (40-60 dkk/6-9 usd)
The city pass for public transport can be purchased at ticket machines found in train/metro stations, online, or in 7-Eleven kiosks.
Bike rentals through Bycyklen are easy and affordable, but the city is very walkable and you may not need to use any transportation at all besides getting to and from the airport or train stations.
Activities and Points of Interest
Tivoli Gardens – (1-3 hrs)
Rosenborg castle & gardens – (1-3 hrs)
Nyhavn – (30min – 2hrs) iconic Copenhagen pics. Cute canal with colorful waterfront buildings and vessels. Lots of places to eat, have a drink, and/or people watch.
Frederik’s Church – (30min – 2hrs) Rococo-style marble church with a large dome.
Stroget – (30min – 2hrs)
Round Tower – (30min – 1hr)
Little Mermaid – (15-45 min)
Assistens Cemetery –
Norrebro – (30min-2hrs) area with lots of street art/murals and good food
BaNanna Park – (30min – 2hrs) in Norrebro. Small green park that used to be a building site. Has interesting artwork and a 14-meter climbing wall
Superkilen – (30min – 1hr) Open public space color coded to the park’s functions, cool angles for photography
The Lakes – (30min – 2hrs) a series of man-made lakes that were built as a defense system in the 16th century and then later used as reservoirs that are now largely recreational. You can rent swan boats here or this would be a good place for a peaceful bike ride.
CopenHot – (1-3 hrs) hot tub, sauna, and boat rental on the harbor
Christiania – (30min – 2hrs) an anarchist community founded by squatters in 1970. The main rules on Pusher Street are no running and no pictures (they will likely not want to see your phone out). Lots of weed and there’s an old moat area that you can see.
Church of Our Savior – (30min – 2hrs) open 10am-4pm. Entrance to the tower costs about 65 dkk and you can climb the 400 steps to the gilt globe and Christ figure up at the church’s spire. The final 150 steps are on the outside so beware if you’re afraid of heights!
